Unusual and Interesting Photos

1. What is your reaction to his work?
My reaction to his work is that he is very unique and creative. His pictures have a very cool lighting which makes them old but new at the same time.
2. How do you think he made these photos?
I think he used a photo manipulation program such as Adobe Photoshop or Gimp.He took a picture of the building and tilted,flipped,ect to the photo.
3. Think about some buildings you have seen, which ones would be good to take a photo like this? Tell me about those buildings, where are they, could you get easy access to them? I think some buildings to do this kind of photo would be like the Empire State Building or the Capital building here in Austin. I guess I could get easy access to the capital building but not the Empire State Building since it is all the way in New York City.






1. Why did you pick this photo? I chose this photo because I like basketball and like how this game was played on a ship.

3. What award did it win (what place)? It won Honorable Mention
4. What did the photographer do that attracted your eye? (I am not talking about the subject, but what the photographer did) The lighting of the picture attracted my eye.
5. How much do you think the subject of the photo weighed in the judges minds when they picked this photo as one of the best of 2012? I think it weighed a lot on their minds because this photos lighting doesn't even make it seem real in some ways.
6. What do you think the photographer had to do that was unique to getting this photo? He had to get on board of a ship and take the picture at the prefect moment when the player was going up for a lay-up.




1. Why did you pick this photo? I chose this photo because I like how it is black and white which to me gives it a lot more meaning.

4. What did the photographer do that attracted your eye? (I am not talking about the subject, but what the photographer did) He made it black and white.
5. How much do you think the subject of the photo weighed in the judges minds when they picked this photo as one of the best of 2012? I don't think a whole lot since I doubt many of them are boxing fans or his fans.
6. What do you think the photographer had to do that was unique to getting this photo? He had to get Manny to pose for the photo.

4. What did the photographer do that attracted your eye? (I am not talking about the subject, but what the photographer did) He backed up a little to get the kid and the lady looking at him.
5. How much do you think the subject of the photo weighed in the judges minds when they picked this photo as one of the best of 2012? I think a decent amount because I'm sure that they laughed.
6. What do you think the photographer had to do that was unique to getting this photo? The photographer had to be there outside waiting for him and right when he stepped out he snapped a few photos.

-Look for quiet moments,they could be the loudest in photos.
-Create a photo where when people see it,it reminds them of something.
-Get photos where somebody expects to see 1 thing after another but your photo is completely different.




 4. Did the photographer follow the suggestions fully? Yes
5. Which style of painting do you think might influence you? I think the quiet photos where not much is going on physically.
